If you follow me on social medias, I shared my latest crush for my new plus size sports bra. Indeed, I really needed to renew my sports lingerie and my choice fell on a brand recommended by Martine from the store Un Amour de Lingerie.
Why wear a special bra for sport ?
A few years ago, I did not have lingerie dedicated to the practice of my physical activities. Indeed, not making a standard size, the classic bras that we could find in fitness stores were not suitable. So I used my everyday lingerie…and what a mistake, in addition to premature wear, the “classic” bras are not at all suitable for sports. Sports practice requires equipment and this also involves underwear.
You should also know that when we move, whether it be dance, fitness, running, our chest moves according to its weight, shape, etc. And practicing a sport without a suitable bra can have consequences – especially on the tissues. The chest is not a muscle, it is made up of fiber and fat. Sport generally involves various shocks, sloshing and this fragile tissue can be roughed up and suffer long-term damage. This can range from loss of elasticity to tearing of the tissue. This can result in stretch marks and breasts lacking firmness.
Plus size sports bra : my crush for Anita
The meeting with the brand Anita was my revelation for sports bras ! Indeed, two years ago, I had the chance to meet the team at the Salon International de la Lingerie. I was very touched by their commitment (the brand offers an range for women who have had breast cancer – prostheses, etc.).
When it comes to sports bras, Anita has developed a whole know-how, both for small breasts and generous breasts. The brand has two ranges : the Firm Support range (moderate activities) and the Maximum Support range (high intensity activities and for large cups).
So I bought my new large bra in the Maximum Support range and when I tried it, I felt like I was putting on a slipper because I was so comfortable !
You should know that the Anita sports bras are conceptualized with :
- a cup divided into three or five parts (depending on the model) to create the necessary depth and offer a particularly firm model.
- wide, padded shoulder straps that allow great comfort and prevent slipping.
- a lateral reinforcement in functional mesh acting as ventilation.
- a breathable mesh back lined with firm power tulle for additional support
- an aeration zone also at the level of the inter-cup.
For large cups, the brand has widened the back with a strip comprising four rows of staples.
What I love about this brand is that the sports bra supports enough without compressing the chest. The neckline is neither too low nor too high. The chest does not overflow while being highlighted – besides, I like to wear the bra as it is, without necessarily putting on a t-shirt.
