Joli Teint Avec Air Mat

A lightweight matte foundation.

BOURJOIS – Air Mat

Air Mat – Mon avis?

BOURJOIS – Air Mat

Bourjois launched in september the Air Mat foundation which wants to be undetectable and natural. This product aims to offer a matte finish with a bare skin effect with the promise of holding for 24H (I personally don’t wear my make-up as long as 24Hr).

Seven shades are available: two lights (#01 Rose Ivory, #02 Vanilla), four medium (#03 Light Beige, #04 Beige , #05 Golden Beige #06 Golden Sun) and one « mediterranean » (#08 Caramel).

Air Mat – Hom I use it?

Generally, I find that matte foundations have a nicer finish when applied with a sponge – especially the Beauty Blender. Matte foundations need to be worked on the skin more quickly because they tend to have a bit thicker formula than the foundations with a satin finish.

I have not tried other method to apply the Air Mat. The Beauty Blender gave me the best results so why looking any further?

My technique is to put some product on the back of my hand – like a pea size and I gradually picks up the product to build the coverage. If you want to see the product in action, go here.

I lightly powder  (with a fan brush) with an almost translucide powder.

If you do not have a makeup sponge, I suggest you to start the application from the center of the face outwards by applying some foundation dots on the forehead, cheeks and chin.

Air Mat – My thoughts?

It’ss a over a month I’y testing the Air Mat and this new foundation really convinced me.
To start, its packaging is very convenient: a rather thin tube that can easily slide in a vanity or Muji drawers. Perfect for travel or for people who want compact products.
A very light fragrance but fresh emerges from the Air Mat.

I found my matching shade without any problem : the #01 Rose Ivory that allows me to unify my skin without any demarcation. Its application is quick and easy (especially with BB), which is perfect when in the rush to go to work.
Its coverage is medium. Without applying a big amount, I find that the complexion is enhanced with an  « doll skin » effect I love.
In terms of texture, the Air Mat has a formula a bit thicker than a satin finish foundation. It will not slip off the back on your hand while you are applying the product. Although its formula is a bit thicker, it blends quickly on to the skin for a naked skin finish. It’s a bit like having a blurry base mixed with a foundation in the same product. You’ll see in the picture where a part of my face is bare and the other with the Air Mat, we see a real difference on the skin appearance : luminous, unified while remaining natural. You may notice that the dark circles are partly corrected as well as some redness. I complete with a concealer to target the areas where I need extra coverage.

Once applied, you no longer feel the product on the skin – which is a real plus. We have the feeling of a skin that breathes and stays fresh. Even without powder, the matte finish lasts during the day. Personally, I always powder, but increasing slightly in the last month (with a fan brush), on the T-zone, particularly to lock the concealer I combines with the Air Mat.
Its lasting power is good. You can spend the day without worrying about the Air Mat sliping off your face or becoming caky. Nevertheless, for the little drier areas (sides of the nose, for example) or more oily (forehead, among others), it’s possible that the product lasts not as good as the rest of the face. Everything depends on the quality of your skin and especially the period of the month in which you are (unfortunately yes, hormones affect our skin throughout the month).

If you have combination or oily skin, do not hesitate to discover this product! Note that this product is also suitable for all skin types because it is not at all drying.
To resume it all, the Air Mat is a product that I really liked and it won’t leave any time soon my dressing table!

Il me plait beaucoup.

    Coucou 🙂

      Bises
